LaMar has a 15 year professional history of progressive responsibility for the management of Facilities Management and Safety programs in highly complex healthcare organizations. Most recently Lamar has been the Director of Facilities and Support Services for Advocate Healthcare System at their South Suburban Hospital and Trinity Hospital sites in Illinois, where he has been responsible for the management of 95 full-time employees and over one half million square feet of building space.

Lamar has a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering Management from Ashwood University, and holds the professional designations of being both a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) and a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP). LaMar is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and former past president and current board member of that group’s local state chapter, the Healthcare Engineering Society of Northern Illinois (HESNI). LaMar also holds membership status in the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). LaMar brings to SMS, Inc. an extensive background in regulatory compliance and construction in the healthcare environment.
